Infused with a beautiful tiny Chrysanthemum flower in each tea cake, these Mini Pu-erh Tuocha (or tea cakes) are created with our premium ripened Yunnan Pu-erh tea. The warm mellow and earthy flavored Pu-erh tea flakes are compressed into a beautiful bird's nest shape then individually wrapped for proper storage.  The light Chrysanthemum lends a light and aromatic floral tone to the more earthy flavor of the Pu-erh, and the tea cakes are a convenient way to brew your tea by dropping one tea cake into your cup or teapot.  When brewed, the Chrysanthemum flower is revealed, and the tea is infused with its flavor and aroma.

Our PureTea's Ripened Chrysanthemum Pu-erh Mini Tuocha is known as a post-fermentation secondary oxidation tea, which is more commonly referred to as “ripened” or “cooked” Pu-erh tea.  PureTea has taken the highest grade ripened Pu-erh flakes and compressed them with a beautiful Chrysanthemum flower to produce these gorgeous miniature Pu-erh tea cakes.  The Chrysanthemum lends a light and sweet floral note to the more earthy and mellow Pu-erh flavors, complimenting the Pu-erh perfectly and creating a unique flavor profile.

Pu-erh tea can be likened to a fine wine.  Unlike most other teas such as black tea, flavored teas and white tea, which need to be used within a year after purchasing, Pu-erh teas are specifically grown and processed so that – when stored properly – they age well over time, creating deeper, richer and more complex flavors and aromas.  In fact, many Pu-erh tea bricks or cakes which are decades old now sell for thousands of dollars!  Usually speaking, Pu-erh teas are labeled with the year they were picked and packaged, as well as the region they were grown in, much like a vintage wine.  Pu-erh tea should be ideally stored in a cool, dry and dark place, where it cannot absorb odors, sunlight or air.  When stored as such, the flavor and value of the tea increases greatly over time.

The tissue paper wrapped over the cake or brick can help to keep the tea dry and protect it from foreign flavor, but it is very thin and breakable. The tissue paper will wear and tear after long time's storage due to oxidization.
You can place the Pu-erh tea in sealed bag or box to keep it from air.

Pu-erh tea has a rich and interesting history behind it.  Pu-erh tea is named as such because it is grown in the city of Pu-erh in the Yunnan Province of China where it has been harvested for hundred of years, and was originally grown and discovered there.  While some people think that Pu-erh tea is a type of dark tea or black tea, it is actually a type of tea in itself, much like a black tea, a green tea, or an Oolong tea.  Pu-erh is a classification of tea by itself, and is available in loose leaf form, but is mainly produced in tea bricks, or tea cakes, which are compressed Pu-erh tea flakes which have been pressed into a particular shape or size.  PureTea's Pu-erh Mini Tuo Cha tea cakes are made from premium flaked Pu-erh tea leaves which have been compressed into the shape of a small beautiful bird's nest, then individually wrapped for better storage and easy brewing.

Pu-erh Weight Loss

Many people drink tea to help with weight loss, as it is a zero calorie beverage with tons of health benefits.  Of all teas, Pu-erh tea is an ideal tea to assist with weight loss, because of its ability to break down fat in the body and to help you digest fatty foods.  It is also said to help increase your metabolism while increasing your good cholesterol and reducing the bad cholesterol in your body.  When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, PureTea's Pu-erh tea can be wonderful for those people who are looking for long term weight loss maintenance.  Many studies have shown that Pu-erh teas contain what are called “polyphones”, which attack toxins and free radicals inside the body, helping to maintain your health and prevent many diseases.
