Premium Tai Ping Hou Kui grows in Hou Keng on Huangshan Mountain, which is the center producing area of Tai Ping Hou Kui green tea. In China, Tai Ping Hou Kui is famed as one of the most famous ten Chinese teas. Leaves of semi-hand Tai Ping Hou Kui are even in thickness, and have brighter color than Nonpareil Tai Ping Hou Kui. First crafted in 1915, it went on to win gold medal for best tea at the 1915 Panama World Expo. PureTea's TaiPing HouKui is an excellent example of this fantastic tea.

Liu'an Guapian Green Tea
  • From Qiyun Mountain(齐云山), Liu'an, Anhui province
  • Round shaped, vibrant leaves without any bud or stems
  • Produces a bright emerald coloured tea
  • A distinctive taste – sweet with a rich, slightly spicy taste

A great find for those looking for a more green tea with more character! Like several of our other teas, Liu'an Guapian is deservedly in the list of China's top ten teas. Made only from larger, mature leaves that are rolled up during processing, the dry leaves have a distinctively plump shape to them – giving rise to its Chinese name of “melon seeds”. Very uncharacteristic for a green tea, it has a quite sweet taste and strong aroma, that is also overlaid with an almost smoky, spicy tang.

Huang Shan Mao Feng Green Tea
  • Grown on Mt. Huangshan(黄山) in Anhui province
  • An golden yellow combination of plump buds with one attached leaf
  • A pale apricot color when brewed
  • A long lasting floral scent and taste, with no bitterness

Carefully picked and processed to deliver a sweet tea with no bitterness, HuangShan MaoFeng – like our Long Jing green tea – always makes it near the top of the list of China's top ten teas. PureTea's authentic, grade 1, HuangShan MaoFeng is grown near the peak of HuangShan mountain in Anhui province.

Xin Yang Mao Jian Green Tea
  • Produced in Xinyang(信阳) in Henan province
  • Long, thin, dark green leaves, with straight tips
  • Produces vibrant yellow-green colored tea
  • A very refreshing, lingering aftertaste and aroma

Our spring picked Xinyang Maojian green tea is produced in Xinyang county, Henan province, and is regarded as one of China's top ten teas. It is distinct amongst other green teas, with its leaves having a darker color and it is having a stronger, more robust flavour. Widely drunk in China during hot weather or after work, it is great when you're thirsty and need a refreshing, relaxing tea to drink.

  • Green tea from Xihu(西湖), Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China
  • Flattened tea leaves, with one bud and one or two leaves
  • Pale green yellow when brewed
  • A subtle, rich, orchid like taste and aroma, with no hint of bitterness

XiHu (West Lake) Dragon Well green tea, or Long Jing as it is known in China, is commonly regarded as one of China's top ten teas, and is often served to visiting head's of states. This premium Long Jing tea is an absolutely fantastic example of this tea.
