Da Hong Pao is the most prestigious tea in Mount Wuyi, known as "King of Tea'', which also belongs to one of China's famous top ten teas. As a part of Oolong tea, its degree of fermentation is slightly higher than Tie Guan Yin. It contains a variety of essential trace elements to replenish water content of the human body. In this article, we're going to share some health benefits it has.

Excitatory Effect

Da Hong Pao tea has plenty of caffeine, which is good for us. Such substance can quickly stimulate your central nervous system, improve thinking and make your work to be more efficient.

Diuretic Effect

Caffeine and other substances in tea can help rid the body of lactic acid, uric acid and other harmful substances, as well as ease of heart disease or nephritis caused by edema.

Cardiac and Antispasmodic Effects

Caffeine has the effect of strong heart, antispasmodic, even smooth muscle relaxation, which can relieve bronchospasm and promote blood circulation. It is a good cure for bronchial asthma, cough phlegm and myocardial infarction.

Inhibition of Atherosclerosis Effect

The tea polyphenols and vitamin C both play a very important role in blood circulation and prevent arteriosclerosis. Therefore, people who drink tea regularly can lower the incidence of hypertension and coronary heart disease (CHD).

Antibacterial and Antimicrobial Effects

Tea polyphenols and tannins in tea act on the bacteria, which can curd the bacterial proteins to kill bacteria. This function can be used for the treatment of intestinal diseases such as cholera, typhoid, dysentery and enteritis. If your skin sores, you can diminish inflammation and sterilize by washing the affected area with strong tea.

Weight Loss Effect

Compounds such as caffeine, inositol, folic acid, and pantothenic acid in tea can regulate fat metabolism - especially the ones in Oolong teas have a good decomposition effect of protein and fat. The tea polyphenols and vitamin C can lower cholesterol and blood lipids, therefore drinking tea can help weight loss.

Anti-caries Effect

Tea contains fluoride, which has a high affinity with teeth. Fluoride can become "fluorapatite" which is more difficult to dissolve in acid on teeth, providing teeth with a protective layer, which can improve the anti-caries and anti-acid capabilities for teeth.

It is reported that tea flavonoids have good in-vitro anticancer effects, while the Vitex alkali, morin and catechin have stronger effects.
